SHENZHEN — The losing team wants another round. White Eagle's team announced on Monday that it has formally asked URKL for a rematch against Matador, four days after a 3–2 defeat at the opening gala that ended with the winning robot's head on the canvas.

"Run it back," the team's statement read, arguing that White Eagle dominated the striking exchanges and landed the fight's defining blow — the final-round high kick that decapitated Matador, a moment so confusing it made half the arena think White Eagle had won.

The case for a rematch

White Eagle's camp points to the knockdown-equivalent moment and to the narrow scoreline: Matador took the decision 3–2 after five five-minute rounds, with the judges rewarding the headless robot's persistence in the final frame. The team stopped short of contesting the result itself, framing the request as a sporting one rather than an appeal.

A bracket rematch is plausible

The timing is not accidental. URKL confirmed earlier on Monday that Matador has been repaired and cleared for the summer qualifiers — and White Eagle is entered in the same qualifier pool at Shenzhen's Longgang FRL Robot Club.
